Public transport in Nuremberg and timetables

In Nuremberg you have buses and trams as well as the Underground at your service. If you would like to visit the surrounding area of Nuremberg, it is advisable to travel by S- and R- trains or by bus.

Buses, trams and the Underground run from Mondays to Sundays, between 5 a.m. and midnight.

At weekends, there are additional buses, so-called ‘NightLiners’, running between 1 a.m. and 5a.m. They run on special ‘Night-Lines’ and take night owls home safely. From 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. they run at hourly intervals. In addition, they operate on the nights before public holidays and on “Rosenmontag” (the day before Shrove Tuesday) and Shrove Tuesday. The point of departure and arrival of the ‘NightLiners’ is Nuremberg’s main station, where you can also change buses. At various stops on the ‘NightLines’ – for example Fürth or Erlangen – you can catch a train to the surrounding area.
