Information on the facilities for people with limited mobility provided by the City of Nuremberg

The ‘Tiefbauamt’ of the City of Nuremberg, i.e. the authority in charge of the planning, design, construction and maintenance of fixed structures and ground facilities, provides severely disabled people with different kinds of parking permissions.

  1. Disabled people with walking impairments, who need constant assistance, can apply for a parking permit, which is valid within the Free State of Bavaria. The granting of the parking permit depends on certain physical conditions. The staff of the Office for Care and Family Affairs (Amt für Versorgung und Familienförderung) will most readily give you the information necessary to apply.
  2. Disabled people with severe walking impairments can apply for a parking pass, which is valid in Germany and many other European countries.
  3. Disabled people with severe walking impairments or blind people can apply for an individual parking space close to their place of residence or their working place. However, you must already own a regular parking permit in order to be eligible.
