Getting around Nuremberg

Information on the facilities for physically disabled people or people with limited mobility at Nuremberg airport.

The Albrecht Dürer Airport Nürnberg is equipped to allow travellers with reduced mobility barrier-free travel. Our support service is available free of charge at both arrival and departure from Airport Nürnberg. In order to provide smooth processes, the application for using our Special Assistance Services must be provided to the airline, its vicarious agent or the responsible tour operator / travel agency no later than 48 hours before departure or arrival.

In addition, there is the possibility of registration at the information desk of the airport. The registration for special assistance with the airline, its vicarious agent or the tour operator / travel agent is still required.

After the registration and confirmation by the contractor (airport information desk, airline or travel agent), the traveller has to arrive at the airport two hours before the scheduled departure. This lead time is necessary in order to ensure a punctual departure.

For this purpose, procedures have been developed, meeting points defined and the scope of free services for such passengers has been laid down in a specification. An exception is made only for seriously visually impaired and blind passengers, who are unable to find the meeting points without assistance. Collection/return is usually from/to the airplane to/from the stated meeting points at no charge.
